The Northern Netherlands Orchestra (NNO) is a versatile, leading symphony orchestra that explores new paths in a wide range of programs.
The NNO is the orchestra of the three northern provinces in The
Netherlands and has Groningen as its location. The orchestra performs in concert halls in the Northern region, at outdoor events, schools and other locations.

The NNO furthermore regularly performs at venues like the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. The NNO currently comprises of 75 musicians. The NNO brings symphonic music to diverse audiences. We therefore value diversity in the orchestral workplace.

Conductors
As from season 2022/2023 Eivind Gullberg Jensen is our Chief Conductor. Principal Guest Conductors are Hartmut Haenchen and Antony Hermus. Michel Tabachnik holds the position of Conductor Emeritus.

The NNO has a vacancy for the following position:

2nd Clarinet/ E-flat Clarinet (70%)

Audition date : May 13, 2024

Closing date for applications : March 31, 2024

Starting date : As soon as possible

 

Compulsory works

1. Mozart Clarinet Concerto kv 622 parts 1 and 2

2. Orchestral excerpts.

Those candidates invited to audition will be notified of the required orchestral works.

 

Terms of employment

– The contract is initially for a probationary period, becoming a permanent position if both parties are in agreement.

– Salary: scale 1 as in the Dutch Orchestras’ Collective Labour Agreement, which can be found at www.vvno.nl, the website of the Association of Dutch Orchestras.

– Contribution to the ABP Pension Fund is compulsory.

 

Application and procedure

– The procedure consists of an audition and an interview. The audition will take place in Groningen.

– The auditions are open only to EU citizens and citizens from Iceland, Switzerland, Norway and Liechtenstein, or other musicians already holding a non-temporary residence permit for the Netherlands with full work authorization. An audition selection can be made on the basis of written applications. – Please submit your application by March 31, 2024 through https://www.muvac.com/15969 (only), by sending us: an application letter (including motivation), along with a Curriculum Vitae, and, when you have a nationality from outside the EU, a copy of your non-temporary work and residence permit for the Netherlands.
